Purpose of Job:                                           

  • To oversee day to day implementation of the project activities;
    • Ensuring    project targeted areas are provided with cost effective  quality services that are in line with  government and donor policies

The Project Officer will expected to provide overall leadership in the planning and management of health service delivery in GLOHOMO’s area of jurisdiction and ensure that  GLOHOMO  project targeted areas are providing cost effective pro-poor  quality  services and adhering to  government and donor policies.


Reporting directly to the Program Manager, will be responsible for all project activities related to Health Care Delivery. The position is tenable in Lilongwe/Lusaka at GLOHOMO Head Office of the organization.   

  • Overall management of the Projects
  • Produce programmatic activity, monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual organizational reports
  • Managing Human Resource under the Project
  • Problem solving encountered during the implementation of the project
  • Provide  overall leadership  on the  project or programme execution;
  • Manage financial resources of the organization both financial and equipment
  • Supervise line managers and staff in all project sites;
  • Manage village technical committees to ensure they address health care delivery;
  • Ensure  appropriate  monitoring of service delivery  to achieve  financial, administrative and  programme  goals;
  • Ensure quality assurance is adhered to in all GLOHOMO  project areas;
  • Assist in mobilising   resources for  provision  of   quality services in  GLOHOMO with at least one proposal per quarter making a total of 4 proposal annually;
  • Ensure  programme  resources  are utilised  in accordance  with  applicable  donor  policies and  procedures;
  • Facilitate Capacity Building in development projects delivery through planning and implementation of Programmes in GLOHOMO project targeted national  coordination desks;
  • Provide technical  support  in the  areas  of   planning  and management of activities in all  GLOHOMO   project areas;
  • Ensure that GLOHOMO project targeted areas have appropriate corporate governance structures for effective delivery of all GLOHOMO activities
  • Provide advocacy, networking and partnership building by representing   GLOHOMO  in the   important  Technical  Working  Groups (TWGs)  of  the line ministries whenever appropriate as delegated from time to time by the executive Director;
  • Promote Technical Capacity by provide technical assistance to the National and Districts Health programs.  

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Degree in Public Health Care Management/Health Services Management /Community Development, Social Science, Knowledge of Demography and Statistics Planning would be an added advantage;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in management of care and treatment programmes, health care services, quality assurance supportive supervision, resource planning and resource mobilisation;
